Based on their innovative "Fugitive Negotiation" course at Harvard Law School, HLS faculty members Whitney Benns and Samuel Straus will lead students in an experiential workshop that brings Black critical thought to bear on the concrete power dynamics that shape the practice of negotiation in educational settings. Attendees will engage the critical insights of Black scholars Savannah Shange, Katherine McKittrick, Fred Moten, and Stephano Harney as they map the institutional contexts that frame their work and consider advanced negotiation strategies that can be used to expand possibility.
An opportunity for CompLit community members to regroup around the concerns related to social justice and racism (including anti-blackness) that students expressed in 2020 and discuss current priorities.
